Devotional Sex is not just about creating a better sex life. It can also increase and maintain intimacy and sensuality within a relationship.

One of the ways intimacy and sensuality can be enjoyed more is to have lots of cuddles. And a way to ensure that you enjoy lots of cuddles is to commit to each other that you will practice a Morning Cuddle Ritual, a Bedtime Cuddle Ritual, or both (with the Double Cuddle Ritual).

Rather than a cuddle being something that is nice when it happens, it now becomes a regular part of each day.

Even on the days when there is no sexual activity, your daily cuddle ensure that intimacy and a sensual connection with your partner is maintained.
   
   
The real power of a Cuddle Ritual comes from the doing it every day. Though there can be a sexual aspect to the cuddles (especially for the Knight), the regular cuddles strengthen the bond between the Devotees.

After a while, a day feels very wrong if for some reason you miss out on the cuddle.
   
   


In the last few years of my long-term relationship within which I developed Devotional Sex, we enjoyed the Double Cuddle Ritual. We also enjoyed a great Devotee sex life.

When this relationship ended, and I was without a partner, I missed having a sex life.

But a much deeper loss was missing the closeness and intimacy of having a partner. I suffered much more from the lack of cuddles than from the lack of sex. From personal experience I know that for me the deepest benefit from being a Devotee came not from enjoying better sex, but from using my erotic energy to make cuddles become an important part of each day.

So, from my personal experience, it is highly recommended that all Devotee couples at least give a cuddle ritual a try.

If you do not want, or it is not practicable, to cuddle every morning (and/or bedtime), then it is highly recommended that you cuddle as often as possible, especially during the mornings and bedtimes when no sexual activity takes place.

While it is recommended that all Devotees sleep in the nude, this will make the biggest difference for couples who practice a cuddle ritual as a skin-on-skin cuddle is much more sensual and intimate than cuddling when wearing bedclothes. If you do not already sleep in the nude, and decide to start a cuddle ritual, I recommend that you also start sleeping in the nude as part of your cuddle ritual. You will soon feel what a big difference it makes to your cuddles.
 
The Morning Cuddle ritual is both Devotees making a commitment to enjoy a cuddle every morning. For those who make this commitment, a morning cuddle becomes their normal way to wake up.

Some Knights will often (or almost always) become aroused during a morning cuddle. Within Devotional Sex a Knight's hard Desire is only showing that he desires his Princess (which is natural and good).

A Princess leans to not feel under any pressure for sexual activity just because her Knight is hard, and so even when her Knight is aroused she will always feel comfortable to enjoy just a cuddle.

Her Knight also learns to enjoy having just a cuddle even if he is aroused (he knows that it is not practicable to have sexual activity every time he is aroused). Rather than feeling frustrated he enjoys feeling aroused with his Princess, and his arousal just makes the cuddle even more intense and intimate. So even if a Knight is often aroused during the morning cuddle, and the cuddle usually remains just a cuddle, the experience will be enjoyed by both Devotees.

With Devotional Sex a morning cuddle will sometimes become more than just a cuddle.

Whenever a Princess chooses, a morning cuddle can be a Ritual Cuddle or a Devotional Cuddle. A morning cuddle can also become a Blissette as this can be enjoyed in the short cuddle time. And when there is no rush to get up, a morning cuddle may turn into longer sexual activity.

How often a morning cuddle becomes a bit (or a lot) more than a cuddle is up to the Princess. Some will choose to have most mornings just a cuddle. In this case a Blissette or other sexual activity in the morning will be a nice surprise for the Knight.

Some Princess's will want to enjoy a Blissette or Devotional Cuddle most mornings. But even sexually active couples will still have mornings when the morning cuddle remains just a cuddle.

An easy way to make a morning cuddle a part of your Devotional lifestyle is to always set your alarm to 5 or 10 minutes before the time you need to get out of bed. 

A morning cuddle can still be enjoyed when one Devotee needs to get up earlier than the other. The person who needs to get up first sets the alarm to a few minutes before they need to get out of bed. When the alarm rings they turn off the alarm and enjoy the cuddle while waking up. The person who can stay in bed is half woken by the alarm, and they enjoy the morning cuddle while remaining half asleep. When their partner ends the cuddle to get up they can then easily fall back to sleep.

If you are not used to a morning cuddle every morning, then you may think that it would be easier and better for both if when one Devotee had to get up very early the cuddle was skipped. Of course Devotees who practice the morning cuddle ritual can skip a morning whenever they prefer. The power of the morning cuddle ritual is that once both Devotees become used to a cuddle every morning then any morning which misses out on a cuddle feels like the wrong start to the day. So even if one person must get up much earlier than the other, both Devotees are likely to prefer to still experience their morning cuddle.

The Bedtime Cuddle ritual is both Devotees making a commitment to enjoy a cuddle every night before going to sleep.

A bedtime cuddle ritual has several benefits:

• Firstly, just as with the morning cuddle, enjoying a cuddle every night creates a deep intimate bond between the Devotees.
  
  
• Secondly, it makes it easier for a Princess to feel comfortable to have nights without any sexual activity and for her Knight to not feel rejected when this happens.
  
  
• And thirdly, enjoying just a cuddle on the nights when there is no sexual activity creates a feeling that the Devotee lifestyle is more than just sexual activity.

The Snuggle command can be used by a Princess to say it is time for the bedtime cuddle.

As with a morning cuddle, for some Knights it might be normal for them to become aroused during a bedtime cuddle.

Part of being a Princess is learning to accept and enjoy her Knight's arousal even when she is not herself aroused. As she is a Princess, it is only proper that her Knight will desire her, and so his hard Desire is a compliment rather than a demand for sex. Erotic energy may often power a Knight's cuddle, but a Princess is always free to relax and enjoy just a cuddle.

Part of being a Knight is learning to be relaxed and comfortable about having just a cuddle even when he is aroused. Once the idea that being aroused must lead to sexual activity no longer applies, just cuddling while aroused becomes enjoyable and a very nice way to cuddle. Even though the Knight would like some sexual activity, just a cuddle is a nice way of still connecting with his partner. Lots of erotic cuddles becomes a benefit of being a Knight.

If a couple usually only cuddles on nights when sexual activity takes place, and rarely cuddles on nights of no sexual activity, then a man starting to cuddle his partner could make her feel that sex was expected. If she wants sex, this is not a problem. But if she does not want sex then feeling that sex is expected is an imposition. And if she is not used to cuddling an aroused man, then his hard Desire reinforces the feeling that sex is expected. When this is the case a woman not in the mood for sex might usually say no to the cuddle just so that she does not feel pressured for sex.

Daily bedtime cuddles makes it easier for a Princess to feel comfortable about having just a cuddle on nights when she does not want any sexual activity because a cuddle with an aroused Knight will no longer feel like a demand for sex. And the cuddle and acceptance of his arousal prevents the Knight from feeling rejected by his Princess on the nights when she does not want sex.

Devotional Sex is most powerful when a Knight's erotic energy is used to power cuddles as well as to enjoy sex. Thus it is recommended that Devotees who do not practice the bedtime cuddle ritual ensure that they sometimes go to bed together for just a cuddle.

A bedtime cuddle can always become more than just a cuddle. How often this happens is up to the Princess.

Whenever a Princess chooses, the cuddle can be a Ritual Cuddle or a Devotional Cuddle.

When a Devotee couple are both very comfortable with Princess Power, it becomes very easy (and pleasurable) to sometimes enjoy a Blissette instead of just a cuddle.

And of course there will be many times when the couple enjoy sexual activity (Bliss or Supreme Bliss).

A bedtime cuddle ritual will be easiest to become a habit if both Devotees usually get into bed at the same time.

If one Devotee often gets into bed much earlier than the other, and the Devotees still want to enjoy a bedtime cuddle, then the cuddle can either happen at the earlier or later bedtime. My recommendation is that the cuddle happens when the Princess goes to bed (or when the Princess prefers).

If the Princess goes to bed first, and wants a cuddle when she gets into bed, then her Knight will undress and get into bed with her. They then both enjoy a cuddle and any sexual activity which also happens. Once it is over, he gets up again and finishes his day before returning to bed later.

The Knight will be energized to make the effort to undress and get into bed for a short time because he will be hoping for sex. Often he will enjoy some Bliss or a Blissette, but there will also be nights when it is just a cuddle. If the couple want to practice the bedtime ritual, it works best if the Princess does not let her Knight know beforehand whether or not it will be just a cuddle. This not only ensures that her Knight comes to bed when she wants just a cuddle, but it lets a Princess decide whether or not to have some sex when she is bed. And on nights when she does not want full sexual activity, after a few minutes of just a cuddle, she may sometimes feel that it would be nice to  enjoy a Blissette.

Even though a Princess knows that her Knight is energized to get into bed early by his hoping for sex, she can still feel very special that he will get into bed early just to give her a cuddle.

Starting a bedtime cuddle ritual may be difficult at first as at times it may feel disruptive to your previous routines. It will take some time for it to start to feel like a normal thing to do every night. If you can stick with it at the beginning when it sometimes feels like an imposition on your time, the initial inconvenience will fade, and the power of the daily cuddles will grow. Eventually an evening without a cuddle will feel incomplete.

The Double Cuddle ritual is simply practicing both the Morning Cuddle ritual and the Bedtime Cuddle ritual every day. Both rituals fit very well together as the morning cuddle can feel like a continuation of the previous night's bedtime cuddle.

As a morning cuddle ritual is fairly easy to implement (just set the alarm a few minutes early), and a bedtime cuddle can be more challenging to make a part of every evening, Devotees who succeed in making the bedtime cuddle ritual a normal part of their evening will probably find it very easy to also enjoy the morning cuddle ritual. So it might be rare for a Devotee couple to practice just the bedtime cuddle ritual, as most will choose to do the double cuddle ritual instead.

By a Princess accepting erotic energy as part of just a cuddle, and a Knight using erotic energy to power the wish to have contact with his Princess, Devotional Sex becomes more than just a sexual technique. Sharing lots of cuddles creates and maintains an intimate bond between Devotees, and this intimacy is one of the main benefits of Devotional Sex.

It is highly recommended that Devotees practice a cuddle ritual.
