Why `Devotional´ and `Sex´

The word `devotional´ captures both the essential `glue´ needed to keep things working, and the main benefit from living the lifestyle.

Devotional Sex requires that both people feel for and show to their partner great love and dedication, as well as strong enthusiasm, admiration, and commitment over a long time period.

Together, all these attributes make up the meaning of the word devotion.

The main benefit of Devotional Sex is that all the attributes of the word devotion are felt much more strongly when living the lifestyle. This enables the couple to reach new levels of intimacy, pleasure, and bliss.

Devotional Sex is the perfect name for this new lifestyle as it captures both the essential `glue´ needed to keep things working, and the main benefit from living the lifestyle.

The name is not spiritual

The devotion which forms the glue of Devotional Sex, as well as the main benefit, is all at the human level. You are devoted to your partner as a person.

So the name Devotional Sex is not meant to suggest anything spiritual.

A spiritual component can be added to Devotional Sex, and this is presented in chapter 7: Tantric Devotion - a Spiritual View.

Only when a spiritual aspect is added to Devotional Sex might a couple think of the word devotion as also applying to devotion to `the feminine creative forces of the universe´ as well as devotion to your partner.

Mutual devotion ensures that there is no abuse

Both people feeling devotion to the other ensures that the dynamic is not abused, and that everything is done for mutual enjoyment.

When reading this site, if you ever think that a practice could be abused by one person and that this could cause problems, remember that the couple are both devoted to each other.

With mutual devotion plus good communication, the Princess will always enjoy being a Princess, and her Knight will always want to be her Knight.

Why `Sex´ is included in the name

The word `sex´ is a part of the name to emphasize that Devotional Sex is mainly concerned with how a couple enjoy their sexual and sensual lives, and it is not about BDSM activities or female control over all aspects of the relationship.

Those interested in Devotional Sex may also have read about FemDom and domestic female led relationships. Both of these techniques usually include more than just sex.

Most books and websites about FemDom write more about kinky BDSM activities than anything else.

Devotional Sex is not about pain, punishment, bondage, humiliation and other BDSM activities.

And many books and websites about female power in a domestic situation have the female not only controlling the couples sexual and sensual life, but all other aspects of the couples lives including housework and finances.

Using `sex´ in the name Devotional Sex makes clear that Princess Power does not apply to the non-sexual parts of the relationship.

Couples who practice Devotional Sex are free to also enjoy BDSM activities, and they are free to expand the power of the Princess to include more than just sex. But these things are added on-top of their practice of Devotional Sex, and are not what Devotional Sex is all about.

No hint of domination

One of the things that makes Devotional Sex unique is that it can be enjoyably practiced by a non-dominant woman.

The name Devotional Sex differs from other systems where the female has erotic power over her partner because the name has no hint or implication of female dominance.

With the word Devotion capturing the mutual devotion of each partner to the other, the word Sex limiting the dynamic to just sensual and sexual activities, and no hint of domination in either word, I think the name Devotional Sex is a perfect name for this new dynamic and lifestyle.
