The Vacation - a short novel

Postby Devotional Sex » Sun Mar 15, 2020 4:21 pm

The Vacation - by Scott Chapman - has just been published.

You can read it HERE.

This story is about the adventures of a Devotional Sex couple who enjoy two weeks with their friends while on holiday.

This topic is for your feedback about the story as well as any questions or comments about how Devotional Sex works within this story.

And social media shy Scott has decided to stick his neck out and he has joined the forum. Hopefully he will also post.

Both Scott and I would love to know what you think, so I hope we hear from you as well.

Hi everyone,

I hope you like the main novel and the new Vacation story. The novel is a longer project so I wanted to take a slight detour and write a shorter story as an interlude. There are more chapters for the main novel to come, you will find out more of the journey of Kali and Adam (along with Sarah and Will).

Enjoy

Scott.

Hi Scott,

One of the first things on the website that I read, then reread, was your novel.

Devotional Sex was new and a bit daunting and the novel helped me understand a bit better how Devotional Sex worked.

So thank you for the novel. Looking forward to more chapters.

I have enjoyed reading The Vacation twice now. It's an erotic read and lots of fun. Well done and thank you Scott.

My question for myself at the end, was "would I rather be Sophie or Emma? Would I rather be taking Dave home, or taking Jon home?"

I wonder what other Princesses or prospective Princesses will think.

For me - Jon would be my preference.

I look forward to other feedback, and to rereading.

I've only read The Vacation once - which was when I was formatting it for the webpages and doing some proofreading.

Like Meadow I thought it was erotic and lots of fun :D

This is a great question - but it is asking the question about other people.

I thought Dave in the story had the recovery power of an 18 year old, and seemed more willing to give oral sex than many men. Though this provided the dynamic Scott wished for his story (and would have made things more challenging for Jon), I thought that the difference between Devotional Sex and 'normal sex' would have been more obvious. How would it feel to the women if Dave had not been as keen to give oral sex? It also would have been a different story if Dave hadn't been able to keep getting fully hard most of the time (which would be the case for many middle-aged or older men).

On the other hand, Jon in the story is, I think, more of a typical Devotional Sex Knight (though him lasting over 18 days would be a bit too much for some men - especially younger Knights).

So rather than thinking of which story character you would prefer to take home, try imagining how the story would go if your partner was put in Dave's or Jon's situation.

How would your partner behave and what would he do if he were Dave? And what do you think it would be like if your partner was your Devotional Sex Knight and was like Jon?

Meadow's question then becomes would you be rather your partner be a Devotional Sex Knight or be 'normal' like Dave?

For male readers:

Rather than asking whether you would prefer to be Jon or Dave, think of how you would act and what you would be able to do if you were in Dave's situation. And think of what it would be like if you were a Devotional Sex Knight.

The male question is then would you rather be a Devotional Sex Knight or 'normal'?

For those new to Devotional Sex it may not be be clear why this story happening in real life would be wonderful for Jon. However for myself and most Knights/men who practice Devotional Sex Jon's constant arousal, and all the play and intimacy which would happen in between the sessions of sex, would, to us, make Jon's experience far better than Dave's.

Please feel free to ask questions here if you want some explanation of why some men would prefer to be Jon.

I've got other views to share about the story, but I'll leave that to other posts.

PS - I guess I've just proved that Scott is a different person from Michael K ;)

I have not read The Vacation yet but something tells me I'm going to have some time on my hands over the next weeks when I'm not going out. Looking forward to the story.

I've always been happy to provide my other half with some oral pleasure.
Life's good - better connection, more sexual and sensual activities - why live any other way.

I hope you enjoy the story RevSir.

You are not the only one.

But my Comparing Before and After DevS survey (see the raw results HERE), shows that before doing DevS most couples had fairly short sessions of sexual activity with intercourse being the activity they spend the most time on. So the Pleasure Kisses which happened were not very long. And many did other foreplay activities for longer than Pleasure Kisses, so they usually either didn't happen or were very quick.

Another difference is that before DevS for many men, oral sex is thought of as transactional - the person receiving it is pleasured, and the person doing it is only doing it to give pleasure (to balance the pleasure they have had or hope to get).

So another option for a 'Dave' in the story is that though he gives Pleasure Kisses at home, as Jon is now giving them so often and for so long, he may feel that he no longer needs to give them at the Villa.

One of the big changes for a man starting DevS is that he starts to enjoy giving Pleasure Kisses more and more, so that it gets to the stage where a Princess can reward her Knight by allowing him to give her a Pleasure Kiss.

I'm not sure how clearly this comes across in the story, but as a very charged up Knight Jon is always eager to give a Pleasure Kiss, and he is enjoying giving lots of Pleasure Kisses as much, if not more, than Dave enjoys the intercoruse.

With my new relationship with Princess Meadow the big change wasn't when she understood that she could receive a Pleasure Kiss whenever she wishes and for as long as she wished. The breakthrough which resulted in a big change in behaviour was when she full grasped that I enjoyed giving her a Pleasure Kiss as much as she enjoyed receiving them.

So for many women there is a huge difference between the amount of Pleasure Kissing with Devotional Sex compared with before.

I think the difference still comes out in the story as Jon is often giving very long Pleasure Kisses, whilst Dave is giving them less often and for a shorter time and he has the conventional view that a Pleasure Kiss is foreplay before the real thing - intercourse.

I'm glad you've enjoyed the new story Meadow.

Different people will find different things they like or dislike in any novel, but I'm sorry Michael if some things don't resonate well with you. A defence I'd make is that they are on vacation and for lots of people that means more sex than usual. Perhaps Dave is better at bouncing back than most but this wasn't about making him a poor second to Jon. As to giving oral sex Dave is up against a master practicioner so maybe the only way to get laid is to show willing.

If you've read The Vacation or Devotional Sex for Loving Couples I'd welcome any further comments.

It's fine with me that you are telling the story you wish to tell. One thing the forum and my surveys have proven is that people have a wide range of abilities and that there is huge variation in how couples practice Devotional Sex.

The Vacation isn't an explanation of how Devotional Sex works with a story wrapped around it. This makes it a much better story.

I hope the story inspires some readers to find out more about Devotional Sex, and I think this forum topic is a great place to discuss how DevS works within the story. I'm hoping that readers ask some questions.

One of the most exciting things about a story is that it can inspire couples to be a bit more adventurous in their own lives. But for translating the story to our real life I think it helps to imagine us and our partner in the story.

If you had gone the other way and made Dave take ages to get recharged, some couples would then have to imagine what it would be like with the man performing much better.

So clearly for the story you can't create a Dave which is like all men, and thus you chose a Dave which creates the story you wish to tell.

The bits of the story which didn't resonate with me are the conflicts (eg Sophie having Jon feel left out, Jon getting angry, Sophie getting angry about this). BUT creating such conflicts is part of telling an interesting story. And the resolution of the conflicts is wonderful.

So overall I did very much enjoy the story, and especially the discussion which this generated between me and Princess Meadow.

Hi again Scott and Michael,

Re Dave and his performance. I think a lot of guys would be really turned on and aroused during a two week holiday like this.

The holiday situation if just two weeks - is kind of like - get it while you can. "Special offer for two weeks only."

However, if this situation became life as usual it would settle down into something different, and Dave may become more subdued.

Re the conflict between Sophie and Jon, occasional conflict is part of any relationship. Sophie and Jon sort out their conflict quickly and communicate well. They are considerate and caring towards one another.

For myself, with Devotional Sex I have found any disagreements have been very short-lived and easy to sort out. Because with Devotional Sex - intimacy, communication and honesty are well established. This is definitely a benefit I've noticed.

Great story - lots of "what if?" questions raised for me.
